Remote Productivity Tools for TCC Employees

While working remotely, the college has a number of tools available to help employees access IT services from off-campus.  Most IT services are available off-campus without the use of the campus VPN.  For a full list of IT services that DO need VPN for off-campus access, click here

Here is a list of tools and services that could enable an employee to work remotely without a VPN.

 

O365 Groups 

Office 365 Groups is a service that works with the Office 365 tools you use already so you can collaborate with your teammates when writing documents, creating spreadsheets, working on project plans, scheduling meetings, or sending email.

OneDrive

OneDrive is your personal TCC cloud.  You can sync your work PC to backup files or just have them available when off-campus.  See this article for more information about OneDrive and how it could help you.

 

TCC Office 365 SharePoint Collaboration

Need access to files while off-campus?  Some departments are moving their shared drives to TCC's SharePoint Collaboration site.  The collaboration site will not only alway you to share and store files, but it can do much more.  You can share and manage content, knowledge, and applications to empower teamwork, quickly find information, and seamlessly collaborate.  Contact IT if your department would like to move your shared drive to the TCC O365 SharePoint Collaboration site.  

 

Desk Phone:  Using Your Phone Off-campus

You can use your campus phone number off-campus!  This is done via software installed on your TCC or home computer.  Click here for more info.

Do you want to forward you desk phone to another number while you are off campus?  This video will show you how.  There are also other guides here which may help you work with your phone or voicemail while off-campus.  

 

Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is a hub for teamwork in Office 365. All your team conversations, meetings, and apps live together in a single shared workspace.  Teams has also incorporated Skype into it, so you you can conduct remote meetings using Microsoft Teams.  Here are guides to using Teams that are helpful.

Office 365

Every faculty, staff, and student has access to Microsoft Office 365.  For more information about using Office 365 click here.

 

Zoom

TCC has licences for Zoom, a remote conferance tool that allows for multiple people to join and allows for screen sharing and the meeting can be recorded.  To request a Zoom account, please use this ticket.

Skype for Business

TCC has Skype for Business as part of our O365 licence.  For all TCC owned devices they will have Skype already loaded on them.  Here is a quick guide on where to find it.  For your home system, there is a way to download it through your campus email.  Here is a guide on how to find and install it.

Bookings

Part of O365, Bookings can simply how students or other folks schedule appointments with you.  Cick here to access Bookings.
