How can I view email older than 12 months in the Outlook Desktop App?

This guide is going to walk you through the two ways of viewing emails that are older than 12 months. This applies to the Outlook Desktop App, not O365 online.

Step 1:  In the list of folders on the left, scroll to the one called Search Folders

Step 2: Right-click on the folder and then left-click on New Search Folder

Step 3:  Scroll down and left-click on the link Old Mail, then click Choose

Step 4:  Pick how many months you want to be able to see. In the drop-down, choose Months, and click OK

Step 5:  Click OK

Step 6:  You will now have a folder with the date range you picked

This is the second way to have emails display for longer in your inbox and folders.

Step 1:  In Outlook, click on File

Step 2:  Click Account Settings, then Account Settings again

Step 3:  Click on the Email account you want to view older emails so that it is highlighted, and click on Change

Step 4:  Move the slider to the right to the max of 5 years or All

In the Change pop-up a red arrow labeled "1" points to the slider toggle that you can slide left or right to increase or decrease the viewable emails. A second red arrow labeled "2" points to the button "Next"

Step 5:  You will get a pop-up letting you know you will have to restart Outlook
