Taking a Quiz or Exam in Canvas using the ReadSpeaker/Text Aid function with and without Lockdown Browser

IF you are required to use Lockdown Browser for the quiz, log into that FIRST. Choose the Canvas option from the drop-down menu. Then follow the steps below starting at number 2

1. Log into your Canvas
2. Navigate to and click on the course you are taking a quiz for
3. Click on Quizzes
4. Click on “Take the Quiz”
5. There is a tab on the lower left side of the screen that looks like a Play button. Click on this. This activates your ReadSpeaker/Web reader. A “Listen” button will appear once activated. You can click and drag this button to anywhere on the page. Now you are ready to begin the quiz!
6. Highlight the first question AND the answer choices
7. Click on the “Listen” button or the “Listen” pop-up that will appear after you highlight
8. Once you have listened to your question and answer choices, Select your answer on the quiz
9. Repeat this process of highlighting the question AND its answer choices and then clicking “Listen” (#’s 6, 7 and 8 here) until you have answered all the questions
10. Click the “Submit” button once you are done
