What is Respondus LockDown Browser and Respondus Monitor?

Respondus LockDown Browser and Monitor are tools that prevent cheating when students to take exams on a custom browser that "locks down the testing environment within Canvas (www.respondus.com/products/lockdown-browser/)", and in either a proctored on unproctored environment or, in unproctored environments provides webcam technology to ensure that students are alone, provide picture ID and facial recognition checks throughout the exam, and onscreen and in-room viewing.

Location of LockDown Browser and Respondus Monitor Settings
1. Location of LockDown Browser and Respondus Monitor settings are on the Course left-side navigation panel.
If prompted to log in, click the log in button
Quiz settings
1. Click on the Modify Settings icon to the left of the quiz.
2. Select Require Respondus LockDown Browser for this exam. Select any other preferred settings you want.
For use of the Monitor option, check Require Respondus Monitor for this Exam and enable any of the setting you wish to include in the students' use of a webcam. Under the Edit Text options, you could include language such as:
Make sure you use the webcam to show all around the room, on whichever the surface is you are working around (table, desk, bed, etc.), your paper notes, to show me that there are no electronics other than the equipment you are taking the exam on and all you have are the paper notes you are allowed.
