Student MFA Opt-Out Request

Warning:  By opting out of MFA, the chances of your account being compromised is much higher and your account will be less secure.

Authenticator Application

An authenticator app is an excellent choice and one of the most secure option for receiving one-time password. Once app is installed on your phone, it will regenerate a new 6 digit code every 30 seconds and by simply opening up the app, you will have access to the 6 digit code.

Authenticator app can be used for a wide variety of accounts such as: TCC, Facebook, Banks, and Google.  Here is a small list of available authentication apps available: Google, Microsoft, Okta, Duo and Authy.

Text Message (SMS)

SMS is one of the most user-friendly ways to send one-time password. Although simple and better than not having MFA, delivering a one-time password through SMS carries the risk of being compromised.

Email

Another option for receiving one-time passwords is through email. While this does provide another option to access your account, it does have downfalls. A lot of the time passwords are reused which results in the user's email password being the same as the account requesting the one-time passwords.

Phone Call

The Voice Call Authentication factor allows users to authenticate themselves using a one-time password that is delivered in a voice call to the user's phone by providing a phone number for a land line or mobile phone.
