Instructions for Installing Office 2019 onto your computer
First you will need to determine which version of Office is already installed on your computer. To do this, create a new document in either Word or Excel and follow these steps to get the version number
- Select "File" in the upper left
- Select "Account". The version number is in the middle and will look similar to this
If you have version 2016, continue with the following. If you have version 2019, you do not need to do anything further.
Before you begin:
- Make sure all Office products are closed
- Allow yourself at least 20 minutes before you need to use any Office products
- You can still use the Office products in the web version, just cannot use the Office application on your computer
1) Select the windows icon in the lower left and type in the word software
2) Select "Software Center"
3) Once open, you should see Office 2019 - click on it to install
4) Select "Install"
Notes:
- It is possible that after the installation is complete, the blue button will say "failed", but Office 2019 will have installed correctly. You can verify if it installed correctly by following the steps at the beginning of this article
- Your computer may require a restart once the installation is complete
