You can record a screen capture program to record a video in studio. We can use screen capture to record a video for just about any length of time depending on the computer's memory.
If you are using a Mac computer, you will need to allow screen recording through your Mac System Preferences. Make sure your Mac is at least version 10.13 or newer. Also, be aware that the process on a Chromebook will be slightly different, but the basic steps are the same. You are encouraged to use either a Windows or Mac for recording with Canvas Studio.
To record with the screen capture, please click on the Record Button and choose the screen capture link. You will be prompted to download and install the screen capture application. It's separate from Studio.
The settings icon will let you choose the kind of recording, screen size, and volume of your narration. In preferences, you can change the hotkeys, the countdown, the control bar, a webcam preview, as well as controls for full screen and keyboard controls.
You have a pen icon to draw on your screen capture. Click the Rec button to start the capture screen. You can pause the screen capture as well. To upload the capture click the done button. To preview you can click the play button. You can also click delete to start over.
Make sure to enter a title, description, and then click upload to upload the screen capture. You can also edit the capture, redo it, or cancel the screen capture. Once completed a box will pop up showing the Upload as successful. Click Continue and you will be taken to the My Library where you can click and view the screen capture recording.
