How do I embed a Panopto Video in my Canvas Course?

Here are the steps to embed a Panopto Recording into your Canvas course (*Using the New Rich Content Editor):

(*Please note that in order to do this "Panopto Recordings" have to be enabled in your Canvas course)

• Once you are logged into Canvas, please click on the specific course
• The process of embedding a Panopto Recording into your Canvas course is similar across all areas of Canvas (Ex: Announcements, Discussions, Assignments, etc.)
• Click on New Announcement as an example
• Click on the Tools option at the top
• Hover your mouse over Apps
• Click View All
• Scroll down and click and choose Panopto Recordings
• A new menu will appear allowing you choose a previously recorded video, or to record a new video with your Panopto Recorder
• To choose a previously recorded Panopto recording from your Panopto folders, you will have to browse through the folders, click the checkbox for the video you want to add.
• Click Insert Videos
• To upload an existing video file from your computer as an example, you will click on the upload tab from the Select Panopto Videos menu
• From there you can click and drag the video files over to be uploaded or you can click to find the files from your computer (*Please note that only certain video files are able to be uploaded)
• Click Insert Videos
• To record a video directly into Canvas click on the Record tab in the Select Panopto Videos menu
• You can name your recording at this point in the box above the record button click record when ready
• Once the recording is finished make sure to click Insert Videos to complete the upload
