Remote Software Installations

If you are TCC staff or faculty and need software installed on your TCC computer while working remotely, we have ways to assist.  Due to important security precautions, the ability to install software without system administrator help is not available.  However, some options are described below.

Self-installations with the VPN

If you are able to connect to the college network via the VPN, and you already have the install file needed, you can request a temporary username and password to complete the installation. You must have an active VPN connection before starting the installation to allow validation of the credentials. To request temporary administrative credentials, click here.

Self-installations with Campus Secure Wireless Connection

If you are connected to the college secure wireless, and you already have the install file needed, you can request a temporary username and password to complete the installation. You must have an active connection to the campus secure wireless network. Instructions for connecting to the TCC secure wireless are listed here. To request temporary administrative credentials, click here.  You may connect to the secure wireless connection from anywhere on campus within Wi-Fi range.  Additionally, we have installed Wi-Fi facing Parking Lot C so people can connect to Wi-Fi while sitting in their cars.

Technician installations with Remote Assistance

We are happy to help with installations if you do not have VPN access, are not on our campus, or need help locating the installation file needed. To begin the request for software installation, click here.Your assigned technician will contact you to schedule the remote session.
