How to Change Your Teams Video Background

If you don't want a custom picture but are okay with using Microsoft's stock pictures, you can skip to step 5.  You must be using the Teams application on a Windows computer.

  1. Click on the Start button or push the Windows key
  2. Type in %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Teams\Backgrounds\Upload
  3. A folder will be opened.  In that folder, copy any image file to that folder location
  4. Exit and restart the Teams application.
  5. Initiate a Teams video call with someone
  6. Click on the three dots (the advanced features icon)
  7. Select “Show background effects.”
  8. Choose the background that will appear on the right side of your screen. Click on “Preview” if you want to see what your screen will look like before anybody else does; otherwise, click on “Apply.”

Microsoft Teams is a hub for teamwork in Office 365. All your team conversations, meetings, and apps live together in a single shared workspace. To access Microsoft Teams, log into https://teams.microsoft.com using your TCC account.

Are you looking at ways to secure Microsoft Teams meetings?  Microsoft has a few ways that this can be done.  You can find these settings in your Teams meeting options.

 

Lobby

Microsoft Teams has lobby settings for teams.  When setting up a meeting, you can choose from the following options depending on which on you would like:

  • Who can bypass the lobby?
    • Everyone
    • People in my organization and trusted organizations
    • People in my organization
    • Only Met

Announcing Attendees

You can set configure Teams to announce when an attended joins or leaves.

Presenting

Do you want to limit who can present in your meetings?  You can choose Everyone, People in my organization, Specific people, or Me.

Muting

You also have the ability to allow or disallow attendees to unmute themselves.
